Mercedes-Benz was reported to be dealing with a little crossover to match the MINI Compatriot. Although the X-Class project was dropped, it appears the all-new GLA-Class will take that function.
The force is strong with the Mercedes crossover game right now. New, tall vehicles of all sizes seem to be growing up constantly with the three-pointed star, including the new GLE, GLS, and GLB that we’ve seen in a rather brief time span. These spy photos offer us our best look at the tiniest of the bunch: The 2021 Mercedes GLA.
2021 Mercedes GLA Spy Shots
We saw one rough photo of the jacked-up hatchback a few weeks back. That one looked more like a Mars rover than a suburban rover, with missing rear doors and 4 blue antenna-like rods increasing out of the roofing. This batch of spy photos shows us a much more total model vehicle, providing us a much better sense of what to expect come launch time.
Though it’s going to be developed on Mercedes’ new front-drive architecture we saw in the new A-Class and CLA, the vehicle’s basic shape is remaining the like previously. There’s absolutely nothing too rugged or tough about the style we see here– that squared-off body is scheduled for the bigger GLB. However, what were we missing out on before sans rear doors? The camouflage makes it appear as though there’s a bulge that starts in the door, leading into the muscular fenders. This body line appears more noticeable and apparent than the current GLA strolling the world.
Both the headlights and taillights look like their production-ready units. Those taillights might be mostly concealed, however the light signatures poking through look similar to the LEDs on the rear of the just-revealed GLB crossover. We think they look excellent there, so the back of the GLA should benefit, as well. There’s a lot of locations that are absolutely concealed in the C-pillar and hatch area that we can only rate for the time being.
2021 Mercedes GLA Interior
The interior of the GLA will bring everything from the new A-Class, which indicates you’ll get the MBUX infotainment. It’s a talkative little thing, with turn-by-turn navigation and AI.
2021 Mercedes GLA Engine
Our spy professional photographer found this tester driving by Mercedes properties in Stuttgart, Germany. This small crossover will probably be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Present estimates put it as a 2021 model year vehicle.
